My name is Gary McLachlan.I moved to Illinois from
Vancouver, Washington in June of 2005. Since moving to Illinois I have been working in Dr.
Patterson's office as a massage therapist.
Growing up I was involved in numerous sports such as basketball, baseball,
track and field. As an adult I became interested in weight training and long distance running.
I completed eleven marathons and ten triathlons. As an athlete massage has always been very important
to me as a way to maintain physical balance within my body, prevent injury, and recover from rigorous
workouts.
I attended East West College of the Healing Arts in Portland, Oregon, completed my
training in 2002, and have been a licensed massage therapist for four years. I specialize in sports massage,
deep tissue massage, myofascial release, swedish massage, and accupressure. I am certified in post
neuromuscular facilitation (PNF), which is a form of stretching the muscles to prevent injury and
increase flexibility.
As a massage therapist I enjoy showing others how to manage stress by eliminating
muscular tension which can lead to injury, and over time can lead to disease and breakdown of the immune system.
